FAQs
What kind of photographer are you? What's your style?
Creativity and capturing the emotions are key to my style. That is why I avoid the type of picture where everyone in the picture is facing forward, standing or sitting in a uniform line, and looking at the camera. Though I understand the purpose of those pictures, and they are great to have, I believe in providing more. I'd much rather take pictures from a variety of angles, play with different types of lighting, dabble with various pose ideas, and do my best to capture those precious candid moments.

How do the photo sessions work?
Generally, we will communicate through email to figure out a time, date, and place for picture taking. This is also a great time to ask any questions or let me know what your goals are for the photo shoot. For those who prefer speaking over the phone, I can definitely call you too! I will also send you a contract via email once plans are finalized.
What can I expect during a photo session?
During a photo session, I will take a combination of posed and candid pictures. I will give you ideas on where to stand, pose, or look, but it boils down to what you are comfortable with. I will never ask you to do something you are not comfortable with, but do know that the most creative shots tend to come from people who are willing to step outside of the box. I also like to incorporate your ideas and suggestions into the shoot, so there will be an on-going dialog of, "What do you think of this setting?" or "Do you want to try this?" Your ideas are definitely encouraged and welcomed because ultimately, your pictures should be a reflection of YOU.
What kinds of camera or lens do you use?
I use a Canon 5d Mark II and Canon 7d. As for lenses, I switch back and forth between a variety of lenses. I primarily use my Canon 24-70 f2.8L and Canon 17-55mm f2.8, but switch to my 10-22mm f3.5, 50mm prime f1.4, or 70-200mm f2.8L depending on the type of shot I want to capture.
How long will it take to receive my pictures?
The turn-around time depends on the type of photography you hire me to do. Generally, your pictures for family or baby portraits will be ready for online viewing within two weeks of your photo shoot. If I am taking pictures of your wedding, pictures are typically ready within 4 weeks. If you order prints, your prints will be ready 2 to 3 weeks after you order them.
Why should I order prints or albums through you if you provide me the digital negatives?
Yes, it's true that ordering your own prints and albums is probably the more economical way of getting hard copies of your pictures. However, I think what most people don't realize is that, as a photographer, my computer is calibrated to the printers from the printing companies that I use, so the coloring of the pictures come out pretty close to what you see on screen. In addition, the photos and albums I provide are of professional quality. I can show you examples of prints and albums so you can see the difference.
